University of Birmingham
Hazaar worked with the University of Birmingham to ensurie items reusable by another student were collected at the end of the year and re-homed. Students donated items on their departure, the Hazaar team stored everything over summer and then re-sold the items to new students during arrivals weekend. Anything left unsold was then donated to charity.
Students moving out of first year halls always creates unnecessary waste. Students leave behind clothes, household items, textbooks and many other items that could be given a new lease of life.

- 28 duvets were donated to Framework Charity for use in hostels and supported housing
- 13 duvets were accessed by clients due to an increased demand for warm bedding
The summer project was a success with a tiny proportion (less than 1%) of items heading to landfill.
